Planning and Zoning
The Planning Department is primarily responsible for:
- Management of land use entitlement within the City
- General zoning requests and land use inquires
- Coordination of public hearing processes for all proposed land development projects and applications
- Review of development plans and permits
- Special projects, long-term land use, urban design, and planning activities
- Planning and land use education
- Mapping: Geographic Information Services (GIS)
The department also tracks statistical information such as population estimates and other relevant demographic information. Planning staff also perform inspections and enforce zoning regulations, and site development plans in addition to processing general zoning requests.
