Stormwater Spill Reporting
Stormwater is precipitation from the sky, either rain or snow. Stormwater collects in streets and drainage ways and flows untreated to local creeks and rivers. It’s important that we all do our part to ensure that pollutants do not end up in waterways and wetlands. What can you do?
- Bag pet waste (pet waste stations map)
- Avoid over-watering or over-spraying onto sidewalks when watering lawns
- Avoid over-applying fertilizers-Dispose of chemicals properly
- Never dump motor oils, petroleum products, antifreeze, transmission fluids, engine cleaners, battery acid, or other chemicals into storm drains or onto the ground.
- If a spill occurs, do not rinse the area with water. Instead use kitty litter, sawdust, or wood chips to soak up fluid, then dispose into the trash.
