Upon Candidacy
Candidate Affidavit due to City Clerk’s office within ten (10) days of becoming a candidate.

Tuesday, August 5
First day nomination petitions may be picked up at City Hall, circulated, and signed.  C.R.S. 1-4-805

Monday, August 25
Last day to file signed nomination petitions with the City Clerk’s office by 5:30 p.m..  C.R.S. 1-4-805

Friday, August 29
Last day to cure insufficient nomination petitions by 5:30 p.m.  C.R.S. 1-4-805

Tuesday, September 2
Last day to file an affidavit of intent to run as a write-in candidate.  C.R.S. 1-4-1102(2)

Lot draw to determine candidate positions on the 2025 ballot (if necessary), Council Chambers, City Hall

Friday, September 5
Last day to finalize the City’s ballot and certify content to Adams County Clerk.  Last day for candidates to call and record their names with the County Clerk for hearing impaired ballot by 3:00 p.m.  C.R.S. 1-5-203(3)(a)

Contributions and expenditures report due to City Clerk’s Office by 5:30 p.m. for reporting period beginning with candidacy and ending August 31.  C.R.S. 1-45-108

Friday, September 19 – Friday, October 3
Adams County Clerk can issue a mail ballot to a voter who requests one in person.  C.R.S. 1-7.5-107(2.7)

Tuesday, October 7
Contributions and expenditures report due to City Clerk’s Office by 5:30 p.m. for reporting period beginning with September 1 and ending September 30.  C.R.S. 1-45-108

Friday, October 10
Mail ballots may be sent to voters.  C.R.S. 1-7.5-107(3)(a)

Monday, October 20
Counting of mail ballots begins.  C.R.S. 1-7.5-107.5

Contributions and expenditures report due to City Clerk’s Office by 5:30 p.m. for reporting period beginning with October 1 and ending October 15.  C.R.S. 1-45-108

Monday, October 27
Adams County vote service and polling centers open.  C.R.S. 1-7.5-107(4.5)(c)

Tuesday, November 4
ELECTION DAY

Wednesday, November 12
Last day for ballots cast by military and overseas voters to be received by the county clerk by close of business in order to be counted.  C.R.S. 1-8.3-113(2)

Wednesday, November 26
Deadline for the Adams County Board of Canvassers to complete the election canvass.  C.R.S. 1-10-102(1)

Tuesday, December 2
Newly-elected officials to be sworn in at City Council meeting.

Thursday, December 4
Post-election contributions and expenditures report due to City Clerk’s Office by 5:30 p.m. for reporting period beginning October 16 and ending November 30.  C.R.S. 1-45-108
