Requesting Police Records

 

Record Requests

All records requests are processed in accordance with the Colorado Criminal Justice Act (CCJRA), CRS 24-72-301, et seq. Some reports may not be released, or may have redactions as required by law.

 

Criminal Justice Records including criminal reports and traffic accidents are available through the Records Department in person or by online request.  You may come to the Police Department during business hours (Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, excluding holidays) to request a report. You will be required to complete a records request form, provide identification, and pay any report fees.

 

For an online request, complete the Records Request Search Form. Once your request is received, it will be processed and the report sent to you by your indicated method.

Available traffic accident reports may also be obtained from BuyCrash.

Criminal Justice Fees

Colorado Revised Statue (CRS) 24-702-306 allows for criminal justice agencies to assess reasonable fees for criminal justice records requests. Please see our fee schedule below.

  • Fees are non-refundable
  • Additional fees may apply on extensive requests
  • Acceptable methods of payment: Cash, Visa/Mastercard. No personal checks
  • All records request must be accompanied by a signed Records Search Request Form and valid identification
  • If submitting your request by mail, submit requests to Federal Heights Police Department, ATN/Records, 2380 W. 90th Ave, Federal Heights, CO 80260
  • To obtain the cost of your mailed request, please contact the Records Department at (303) 412-3548 or (303) 412-3544 prior to submitting your request .
  • For requests made in person to the Federal Heights Police Department, below fees shall apply:
