John J. Hagus received legal title for his land on March 20, 1875 -  
80 acres, the S 1/2 of the NE 1/4 and the S 1/2of the NW 1/4
in Section 28, Township 2 South, Range 68 West 6th Principal Meridian.
In 1875, the area that is now Federal Heights was in Arapahoe County.
Adams County was formed in 1902 when its creation was approved
by voters.  Adams County was named after Alva Adams, a
popular governor who was in office at the time of the election.
