Boards, Commissions and Committees
The City Clerk processes the appointments to the City's boards, commissions and committees. The City Council appoints advisory boards and commissions as established by ordinance. Members of each board, commission and committee serve without compensation. Below are descriptions of each board and membership information.
Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment meets on an as-needed basis to review variance requests to the zoning code. The Board of Adjustment consists of five regular members and two alternate members, appointed by a majority vote of the City Council. Three of the regular members are citizens, one from each ward of the city, and the other four are citizens at large. Members are appointed for two year terms.

Historical Committee
One of City Council's goals in its 2018 Strategic Management Plan was to appoint volunteers to serve on a Historical Committee. The Committee's purpose was stated to be to preserve, interpret and share Federal Heights historical past by collecting memories from older members of the community, former City Council members and their families, publications and photos.
