The Yard-of-the-Month competition is not only successful, but the competition allows the City to showcase just a few of the beautiful, well-maintained yards found all around the City of Federal Heights. City Council would like to once again honor the 2012 gardeners who make our City a more beautiful place to live.
City Council initiated the Yard-of-the Month program in 2010 to recognize and honor our neighbors who turn their yards into living works of art for the entire community to enjoy throughout the summer months. Each month during the summer (June– September), City Council will select a yard located in the City of Federal Heights to be that month’s Yard-of-the-Month honoree.
The criteria for Yard of the Month selection includes:
· Single family properties (including mobile homes)
· Total exterior appearance as viewed from the street
· General upkeep, tidiness and neatness
· Pruned, trimmed and shaped foliage, edged and defined lawns, borders, flowerbeds
· Visually appealing facade
Federal Heights City Council announced the June 2012 Yard of the Month winner! Congratulations to Mark for winning this honor.
The Yard-of-the-Month committee will be accepting nominations until July 31, 2012 for the August award. Nominate yourself, your neighbors or both to the Yard- of-the Month committee chair:
