Volunteer Victim Advocate

The Federal Heights Victim Services Unit is accepting applications for volunteer Victim Advocates positions.

Victim Advocates provide on-scene contact with victims and witnesses of violent crimes, sudden death and other emergency situations.

     Volunteers are required to:

• Undergo a thorough background screening.

• Complete 40 hours of training taught by professionals in the field.

• Required to take four 12-hour on-call shifts each month, including holidays.

• Must be able to respond to within 30 minutes of dispatch contact.

• Be available by telephone or pager.

• Be at least 21 years of age.

• Be self motivated.

• Have strong interpersonal skills.

• Be able to maintain confidential information.

• Must be able to commit for at least 12 months.
