PROGRAM GUIDELINES:
In order to ensure that your items will be collected, please adhere to the following program guidelines:
Keep it curbside.
Items to be collected must be placed curbside along the front of your property. Items placed on or extending onto private property will not be collected.
Bundle or package it.
Items for collection must be bundled or packaged.
If two people can't lift it, we can't take it.
Items that are too heavy or too large to be lifted safely by two people will not be collected. Disassemble large and heavy items.
Know your collection date.
Items must not be placed out for collection any earlier than the evening prior to your scheduled collection date. Placing your items out too early could result in Code compliance violations.
Crews will only make one pass.
Bulk items not placed curbside by 7:00 AM on the day your neighborhood is scheduled for collection may be subject to non collection or special collection fees. If crews are behind schedule they may arrive the day following the actual scheduled date.
Crews will only take bulk items.
Items that commercial trash companies will accept will not be picked up.
The City of Federal Heights and its contractors reserve the right to accept or reject any materials for collection.
ELIGIBLE ITEMS:
- √ Furniture
- √ Appliances (which do not contain Freon or have had the Freon professionally removed)
- √ TVs
- √ Doors
- √ Cabinets
- √ Stereo equipment
- √ Lumber (with nails removed and bound in 5 foot lengths)
- √ Yard equipment
- √ Yard waste (limbs must be bound and no longer than 5 feet long)
- √ Bicycles
- √ Carpeting and padding (bundled in 5 foot lengths)
INELIGIBLE ITEMS:
Items not eligible for collection include, but are not limited to:
- Ø Appliances containing Freon (i.e. Refrigerators or air conditioners)
- Ø Concrete, bricks, rocks, asphalt
- Ø Hazardous household wastes and materials
- Ø Hazardous construction or hazardous demolition materials
- Ø Chemicals
- Ø Oil, antifreeze, auto fluids
- Ø Paint
- Ø Batteries
- Ø Propane bottles and containers
- Ø Flammable fluids
- Ø Junk cars
- Ø Motorcycles
- Ø Dead animals

Note: Republic Services Landfill, located at 88th Avenue and Tower Road, will accept waste for a fee. Call 303-371-2886 for specific details.
