The Reserve Police Officer Program enables volunteer citizens to gain training and experience by assisting the Police Department with various tasks and responsibilities.

Reserve Police Officer ProgramThe Reserve Police Officer Program enables volunteer citizens to gain training and experience by assisting the Police Department with various tasks and responsibilities.
Qualifications:Must be a U.S. Citizen, 21 years of age or older, and in good physical condition and health. A High School Diploma, graduation from a certified Police Academy and P.O.S.T Certification are required. Must have a valid Colorado driver's license with a good driving history, and no felony convictions.
Position Requirements:
- Complete 24 hours of service per month
- Complete F.T.O. program within one year
- Perform prisoner transports
- Deliver city council packets
- Assist in other divisions of the Police Department when needed
- Assist with special events taking place within and outside city limits
- Other tasks as assigned
Selection Process:The selection process for Reserve Officers includes:
- Completion of a City application,
- participation in an oral board,
- a thorough background investigation,
- a computer voice stress analysis,
- a psychological examination,
- a medical examination and drug test,
- and range qualification of 70% or greater.
