The City of Federal Heights is dedicated to preventing pollution from entering the waterways of the state and the nation. The City recognizes water as the state's most valuable asset. In support of the Clean Water Act of 1972 and Phase II of the National Pollution Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES), the City is committed to developing, implementing and enforcing a Stormwater Management Program designed to reduce the discharge of pollutants from the City's storm sewer to the maximum extent practicable, to protect water quality and to satisfy the appropriate water quality requirements of the Colorado Water Quality Control Act (25-8-101 et seq., CRS) and the Colorado Discharge Permit Regulation (61).
