Traffic Unit
Dear Citizens,
Traffic related issues
are the most frequent complaints in our community. Our city and the
surrounding communities have grown to the point that three hundred
thousand cars drive on our streets in a twenty-four hour period. Like
municipalities surrounding us, our city decided to control this problem
with officers assigned specifically to deal with traffic.
Two police officers will be identifying traffic problems and exploring
solutions. In addition, the state will be supplementing the salary of
an officer to dedicate his/her time to drunk driving enforcement.
The main goal of the traffic unit is to make our roadways safer for
motorist and pedestrians. The traffic unit will be concentrating on
main thoroughfares in the city, but may solve traffic problems in the
residential areas as well. Citizens are encouraged to call the police
department if they have a traffic problem in their community. You may
do so by calling communications at 303-428-8833 and request the traffic
unit's services. Be safe and drive carefully.
Sincerely,
Les Acker
Chief of Police
