Ambassadors from the Metro North Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed Colorado Hazard Control into the community of Federal Heights last Wednesday. Dan and Lynnelle Beaver are the owners of the newest business in the Tech Centre at 92nd (2727 W. 92nd Ave.)
Colorado Hazard Control (CHC) provides fully licensed, environmental site clean up. CHC offers asbestos, mold, lead and PCB abatement at the residential, commercial and industrial scales as well as 24 hour emergency response to its clients. In accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations, CHC removes meth labs, provides Radon testing/mitigation, lead abatement, odor elimination and pigeon infestation remediation.
CHC staff is pleased to note that their field has not been dramatically affected by the recent downturns in the economy and they have instead seen consistent growth in their clientele since they began. "Business has been steadily growing all along," Dan Beaver said before ceremonially cutting the ribbon. The family owned business now includes two grown daughters and a son-in-law as a part of the team. CHC provides 50 jobs to the community.
The Federal Heights location provides the company with more room to meet the needs of their ever-growing list of clients. Staff member, Brittney Lehman commented, “We were looking for a place that would give us close proximity to our target market with easy access to our resources.”
Colorado Hazard Control History
Dan Beaver began working in asbestos mitigation nearly a quarter of a century ago when he was with Denver Public Schools. He was quickly promoted to Head of the Asbestos Mitigation Department for Colorado’s largest school district and steadily improved safety for tens of thousands of school children in the state. Beaver then landed in the private sector, where he managed projects for some of the large environmental mitigation contractors in the Denver Metro area. With decades of experience, Beaver, along with his wife Lynette started their own company. Originally a home-based business, CHC has grown into one of the top environmental mitigation contractors along the Front Range.

Tom and Mickey Robins, along with family, friends, colleagues, consultants and City of Federal Heights officials, celebrated the groundbreaking of Robins Automotive on May 5th. Located at 2245 92nd Avenue the new 4,400 square foot center will be a mix of office & garage space and the facility will focus on auto repair and towing.
“This is a great day,” Tom Robins said at the ground breaking. “We’ve had ups and downs getting the project to this point, but with the hard work of a lot of the people here today, we are now getting underway.” Approximately 40 people at the event applauded loudly.
After ten years in leased space in Northglenn, the Robins are moving up to owning their own facility in Federal Heights. Robins has built a solid reputation in the North Metro area as the place to go for quality auto repair and superior service. The business has grown over the years, by mostly on word-of-mouth advertising. “All the employees at Robins treat people the way I’d like my mother, my wife and my daughter to be treated,” Robins said.
Mayor Joyce Thomas proclaimed, “On behalf of the City of Federal Heights, we’d like to welcome Robins Automotive to our community.”
The project was designed by Peter Ewers of Ewers Architecture and construction is expected to be complete by the fourth quarter of this year.
The new Robins Automotive is located just minutes to the west of an I-25 interchange at 92nd Avenue. Robins uses a slogan: “We’re never too far for honest, reliable care for your car!”
Within the past five months, Federal Heights has welcomed retailers Ace Hardware and SmashBurger to the city, as well as distribution space users, Cycla and SnowLion Books.
